Remarks

abyssopelagic. Sargasso Sea (Station "S"): 500-2000 m.
Only the male has been maintained and not the female (= S. brevicaudatus ).
It is likely that certain geographic locality records are contestable. I have no information concerning the sex concerning this species in Deevey & Brooks (1977), but probably female.
