Suarez Morales in Crustaceana, 1993, 64 (1). [p86, Fig.1]. As Thaumaleus boxshalli. Female (from Bahia de Ascension, Yucatan): a-b, habitus (lateral and dorsal, respectively). Scale bar in mm. Nota: head and 1st pedigerous segment fused, about 0.60 of total body length. Oral papilla located 0.15 of way back along cephalothorax. Eyes present, well developed, ocelli intensely pigmented, semitriangular in dorsal view. Urosome consisting of the 5th pedigerous somite, the genital somite, and 1 free abdominal somite. Absence of a dorsal suture on the genital somite.

Nota: A1 4-segmented; ratio of lengths of segments: 12.5: 27.5:1307:46.3 = 100. P5 fused medially. Absence of an inner ramus in P5 (only a small inner protuberance with a 1 short, plumose seta. Issued from : E. Suarez-Morales in Cah. Biol. Mar., 2001, 42. [p.246, Figs.7-12]. Female: 7, P1 (posterior); 8, P2 (anterior); 9, P3 (posterior); 10, P4 (anterior); 11, 5th pedigerous somite and genital double-somite (ventral); 12, 4th and 5th pedigerous somites and genital double-somite (lateral), ovigeous spines cut short. Coxae omitted in P1-P4. P5 fused medially at base, with low, medial, subtriangular protuberance between them (fig.11); uniramous, endopod absent; exopodal lobe elongate, 2.5-2.6 times longer than wide. Exopodal lobe armed with 2 biserially plumose setae, subequal in length and breadth, plus a small, inner seta (broken at base)

Issued from : E. Suarez-Morales in Cah. Biol. Mar., 2001, 42. [p.247]. Female: Armature of swimming legs P1 to P4. Nota: Basis with lateral hair-like seta; this seta on P3 sparsely and biserially setulated, at least 2.5 times longer and noticeably thicker than the others. Exopodal outer apical seta with outer row of short spinules, inner margin sparsely setulated; this seta increasing in size from P1 through P4, relatively longer in P4 (2.3 times exopodal length), shorter in P2 (1.5 times).
