Distribution map of Oncaea compacta by geographical zones
Antarct. (SW Pacif.), Arct. (Canadian Basin), NE Japan (Oyashio region)
N: 3
(679) F: 0,6-0,5; (675) F: 0,68-0,52; M: 0,52-0,42; {F: 0,50-0,68; M: 0,42-0,52}
Rem.: bipolar species.
Sampling depth (Antarct.) : 1000-2000 m.
For Heron & al. (1984, p.470), O. compacta resembles O. longiseta Shmeleva, 1969, but O. compacta may be distinguished by an unsegmented P5 in both sexes.
