Species Pseudodiaptomus bispinosus - Plate 2 of morphological figuresissued from : T.C. Walter, S. Ohtsuka & L.V. Castillo in Proc. Biol. Soc. Washington, 2006, 119 (2). [p.209, Fig.4].
Female (from panay Island, Philippines): A, prosomal end and urosome with egg sac and dotted line indicating ventrally attached spermatophore (dorsal); B, genital area (ventral); C, P5 (anterior);

Male: D, prosomal end and urosome (dorsal); E, P5 (posterior), arrowed structure shows detail of the tricuspate endopod); F, P5 (anterior; arrowed structure shows detail of the proximal process on left 2nd exopod).

Distribution map of Pseudodiaptomus bispinosus by geographical zones
Loc:
G. of Thailand, Philippines (Padre Burgos, Fort San Pedro, Panay Island)
N: 3
Lg.:
(802) F: 1,15-1,3; M: 0,94-1; (1058) F: 1,15-1,22; M: 0,85-0,98; {F: 1,15-1,30; M: 0,85-0,98}
Rem.: Coral reef.
This species is most similar to P. incisus Shen & Lee, 1963.
For Walter & al. (2006, p.210) the specimens from Panay Island vary slightly from the original description by Walter (1984) in a few minor characters: 1- female P5 basis and 2nd exopodal segments bearing surface spinules, rather than setules; 2- male P5 coxae and intercoxal sclerite almost completely fused, lacking small pair of distomedial protuberances; 3- right 2nd exopodal segment of male P5 with different spinulation pattern. These differences fall within intraspecific variability.
In Hyalinus species group (trihamatus subgroup) after Walter & al. 2006, p.203.
