Thompsonopia muranoi  (Ohtsuka, 1992)   (F,M)
Syn.: Pseudocyclopia muranoi Ohtsuka, 1992 (p.296, figs.F,M, Rem.); Chihara & Murano, 1997 (p.892, Pl.163: F,M)
Ref.:
Jaume, Fosshagen & Iliffe, 1999 (p.391, 394, Rem.
Species Thompsonopia muranoi - Plate 1 of morphological figuresissued from : S. Ohtsuka in Publ. Seto Mar. Biol. Lab., 1992, 35 (4/5). [p.297, Fig.1].
Female (from Kanayama Bay): A, habitus (dorsal); B, idem (lateral left side); C, urosome (ventral); D, A1 and rostrum; E, A2; F, Md; G, Mx1.
Nota: Cephalosome and 1st pedigerous segment incompletely fused, 4th and 5th fused.. 2nd and 3rd urosomal segments entirely covered with \"scales\" like those of Pseudocyclops lepidotus. Anal segment fringed ventro-posteriorly with relatively long spinules. Furcal rami with small process located near minute ventral seta. A1 symmetrical, 24 segmented (first four and 10th and 11th segments ibcompletely fused). mx1 with 1st to 3rd inner lobes having 13, 2 and 4 setae, respectively; outer lobe with 9 setae; basipod 2 incompletely fused with endopod and exopod, these rami with 11 and 8 setae, respectively. Mx2 with 5 basipodal inner lobes (1st to 4th bearing 5, 3, 3, and 3 setae, respectively); 5th inner lobe large, produced with 2 stout, scythe-shaped setae.

Species Thompsonopia muranoi - Plate 2 of morphological figuresissued from : S. Ohtsuka in Publ. Seto Mar. Biol. Lab., 1992, 35 (4/5). [p.298, Fig.2].
Female: A, Mx2; B, Mxp; C, P1; D, P2; E, P3; F, P4; G, P5.
Nota: Sexual dimorphism is observed in P4 in addition to its usual occurrence in P5 and urosome; only the female has long, thick inner spines on the basipod 1 and the 1st and 2nd endopod segments of P4.

Species Thompsonopia muranoi - Plate 3 of morphological figuresissued from : S. Ohtsuka in Publ. Seto Mar. Biol. Lab., 1992, 35 (4/5). [p.299, Fig.3].
Male: A, habitus (dorsal); B, P4; C, P5.
Nota: The male resembles P. stephoides, but differs from it in the structure of P5
